My Scenarios

Warlock's Mountain
This small scenario is half made. It is a BoE version of the first real game-book ever, and is straightly inspired by Fighting Fantasy 1 The Warlock of Firetop Mountain, by Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone. It is basically a treasure hunt in a nasty dungeon filled with goblins, skeletons and tougher beasts.
It is designed specially for a unique beginner PC, which you can design as you like; I even think it should be fun to play it more than one time, with a totally different PC each time (a bruiser, a spellcaster, an assassin, ...).
The scenario has 1 outdoor, a town (an altered version of Warrior's Grove for the moment), and a big dungeon, featuring approximately 10 levels.
As this scenario is a rather close version of the book tranferred to Blades, I think there could be some copyright problems (though I don't think the authors would be very angry at me). As I haven't their address and haven't contacted them yet, I don't plan to send it to Spiderweb, but to let some fellow BoErs test and play it if they ask me to.

The Rise of the Triad
The name refers to an old doom-like PC game, but it's not the point here. All Exile-players know which Triad I'm referring to.
I made only half the outdoors and the first dungeon of this scenario, but the mian plot and most of the details are ready, on my notes and in my brain. I've got the idea since more than a year, but haven't spent much time designing it, as it's a big scenario, and I've got plenty of scenarios to play, not talking of my former studies and my new job.
This scenario has 20 outdoor sections, and will probably have 50-60 town levels. I know others made huger scenarios and released them, but I don't pass as time as they did on mine. Plus, I'm not english-speaking, so the dialogs and messages take me a little more time to write.
You will be hired by the New Triad, that took the place of the old one some time after the Tower's destruction in Exile III; the Tower of Magi got finally left by the Mages who annexed Erika's Tower in Upper Exile and Patrick's Tower in the Great Cave, both being abandoned and not emanating the dark memories of demonish clash.
King Micah is dead some years ago (as in Truffle Days), the Sliths have been defeated, and Exile is at peace with the Empire. The Vahnatai are quiet and don't bother humans much those times. The actual king is Chevyn I (gosh!). Luckily, a Ruling Council assits him in his tasks; it is componed by some military leaders, the former Mayors' Council, and wise men, the most influent being part of the New Triad.
One of them wants you to hunt a rebel wizard who stole precious and powerful artefact the Triad needs to ensure the kingdom's prosperity and security. Your first task will be to find it, defeat the traitor, and take it back to the Castle and the Trias member. This mission will take place in Upper Exile, where you'll find the New Tower of Upper Exile (Exile's New Tower being Patrick's in Exile).
What I can tell you is I've drawed all Upper Exile, a decade after the end of Exile III, with improved towns, new ones, Fort Emergence, etc.... You'll find the Castle, too (bigger than ever), and a portion of Krizsan Province.
Of course, I won't reveal you much more. As Jeff said: "Fort Remote was toasted in EI, Cotra in EII, the first Tower of Magi in EIII; you won't believe what I'll toast in this one".
Of course, the main thing to have in mind for this scenario is: "trust no one".
The last thing I will reveal is that I plan to copy to BoE some great features of the other great RPG shareware, Realmz, by putting in it huge battles and encounetrs, with dozens of fighting humans and beasts, both side. There will be a real war at the end, and you wouldn't stand against entire armies; but you're lucky, you'll find soldiers and mages who'll fight on your side.
Of course, you'll still be largely outnumbered >:-)

Rentar's Revenge
Yes, I know many scenarios involve evil Vahnatai trying to crush humans, and with Rentar in the background, and you should kill her in some.
This one, in fact, will take place after the end of Rise of the Triad. I won't give up its end, but one bad guy survived at the end, the head of all this mean plot.
After some time, words come to Exile he was found in Vahnatai lands, and allied with Rentar. She is still plotting revenge upon surface and Exile, and she now has the most valuable of allies. The fear is great in the Castle, and the Council decides it is time for you to sign up another time for a special mission.
With the time, some Vahnatai were upset with the dreams of revenge of Rentar and other, and rebelled. Other Vahnatai tribes were peaceful, some were helped by humans (see Valley of Dying Things), and some were in the curse of being conquered by Rentar's tribe. You'll show up in the middle of all this turmoil, with civil war and many intern vahnatai fights. Of course, you must stop Rentar and his human ally, by killing them if needed.
You will side with some Vahnatai against some other, always being watchful for treason. Finally, you'll find some terrible truth about Rentar's plans for destroying Exile, part of the surface and of Vahnatai lands. You will also find her near fate: Rentar's death, and his soon successful efforts to become a crystal soul, a form under which she will be far mroe powerful Exile could fear.
And you'll have to find a way to stop her transformation, before it is too late.
As you could guess, this scenario will be long, not as long as Rise of the Triad perhaps, but long enough (at least 10 outdoors and some 40 towns, I think). The plot isn't achieved, and is only in my brain, for the moment. So, it won't be released this year, for sure :(, but next, I hope.

Scenarios Ideas

Feel free to take those ideas for your scenarios, as I probably won't have enough time to make them myself. If you do, just let me know by e-mail.

The first are some Exile Prequels ;)

The First Visitation
You're playing important members of the first visitation, such as Thralni and Karzoth. Your job is to explore, survive the sliths' and demons' attacks, don't be burnt by Motrax, and return to the surface to report. A good idea would be to have a specially designed party for this to begin with, including the names of the explorers, and some of their artifacts. Due to their power, it should be a *hard* level; due to the (total?) absence of other humans and the hostility of most of the cave dwellers, train, buy/sell/identify, healers, recipes and spell-sellers should be very few (no more than 1 trainer, for example).

Exile 0.5 or Exile Episode I
This scenario depicts the beginning of the Exile history, and shows the historical leaders of the Exiles. Again, a pre-designed party should be made, including the mighty wizards (Erika, Solberg, Patrick) and the Exile political leaders (Micah, Prince Hrothtar, killed by Grah-Hoth before Exile I). You're cast in the underworld, the humans are totally unorganized, and you're going to bring order in the middle of this uncivilized mess. You should help them establish cities, Castle, get books and magical tomes, create magical mushrooms, and fight humans' enemies, especially Demons; one of the main goal is to defeat Grah-Hoth and imprison him (it would be better not to really kill or banish him, as he will appear in Exile I).

The following isn't Exile pre-history.

A navigation-based scenario, in which you sail most of the time, from island to island. Some towns are in fact boats, and shaped accordingly to that (like the Nephil Raider in the enhanced version of Wreck of the Slug). It would be a pirate adventure, with naval fights, and special nodes in the middle of trouble waters.

A mythological scenario. I know some have references to greek world and legends (Algiers, Serpent's Hiss), but what about a totally ancient greek one? You could take the Odyssey and make a whole scenario (more or less loosely) based upon, or make your own story with antic monsters (Minotaur, Chimera, Medusa, Cyclops, ...), and including greek heroes and gods as NPCs. If you want more informations, check this link.

A tough scenario: you face hordes of enemies, and the mightiest creatures you've ever faced in Exile. A very-high level scenario, mainly hack and slash (the idea came to me after trying Heirs of Theseus from Alcritas-klinkham@juno.com). Try to make really hard-to-beat creatures, and give very powerful equipment to your PCs, so they can manage to crash some nasties at the end. Try to upgrade them at their maximum and see if they're able to blast mosnters with lot of HP, heavy attacks, a lot of skill or armor, or with nasty special abilities. DO the worst and see if anyone can survive it.
It seems that at least one scenario (Stranger's Quest, by Benacks@union.edu) has really nasty beasts in it, some fights seeming unwinnable. But I only had a look at it.

A scenario idea submitted to me by Morgan on the message board:
Play Exile II story, but on the Empire's side. You fight the Exiles, and probably the Vahnatai.
My opinion is, if you want the scenario to be plausible, you should make this happen just after the end of Exile II, as Empire troops are stuck in the caves, their leader recently killed, and the war is becoming to be difficult for your side. Empire must now fight the magically-powerful Vahnatai and the Exiles. It was too easy for Empire at the beginning of the war to make you play this part (plus, Empire troops are the bad guys in Exile II, butchering innocent civilians). So, to be challenging, make a lost Empire patrol fight the mighty of the underworld. Take on the Castle, attack Erika's Tower, or drush the Council in Olgai, ending by an assault on the Crystal Shrine. Or make a shorter scecnario, but with some mission of this sort.
