Senatus PopulusQue Romanus
Emperor Caligula's Faction
I, the wise, cruel and all-mighty Emperor Caligula, ruler of Rome and
all the known Earth, am proud to show you the power of my warriors, who
have fought for the glory of our Empire in Akhronath's Arena during the
first 5 seasons.
This faction was an honored member of the IRA (Imperial Researchers' Alliance). The Arena can be found in
Akhronath's Archives, with all the Arena's rules and results. Stareye's site hosts the page of his faction, SRI, that is another powerful member of IRA.
All Roman contestants and gladiators were tested here:
Don't under-estimate the power of the Roman Empire. Some of my
previous contestants did very well, and actual ones are pretty good.
Just take a look at my results:
1st Season
Ahonar B(ruce) Lee won the first bracket of the first regular Arena held by Akhronath.
2nd Season
The mighty Mesopotamian level-7 priest Gudea won his bracket, and got in it one of the most impressive wins-% of all time.
3rd Season
The Titan competition ran for the second time. Ungoliant the
Unlight won easily the first of the 2 brackets of Titans, and ended at
the 4th place.
4th Season
saw the Rise of Rome and the appearance of his wise, cruel and
all-mighty Emperor Caligula in Exile's world; SPQR officially entered
the IRA alliance, that originally included Stareye, Thissa and Lord
Arkanor. Alas, none of Rome's fighters passed the play-offs, due to
lack of time for testing them. Of course, this was only a tactic to
deceive his enemies. Though, we should note that Coriolanus was pretty
close to obtain a wild card.
IRA wasn' very successful, as only the Acidic Mauler of Stareye passed the playoffs, but did very well in the regular Arena.
5th Season
(currently underway)
The gladiator Quintus won his bracket in the Early Bird
competition, though he was one of the first competitors to be sent to
the regular Arena. The same is true for Rome's current Titan, the greek
hero of the Trojan War Diomedes, and he is at least as successful as
Quintus, as he was second on the first Titan bracket. I must say both
were thoroughly tested and trained. Alas, Quintus fell in a
particularly difficult bracket, with 5 of the 11 top-ranked
competitors, and failed to pass the playoffs of the regular Arena. He
has been avenged by Sarpedon, demi-god, son of Zeus, who got a wild
card by being second of bracket IV, the first being the Golem of
Eternal Night created by Stareye Research Institute.
Diomedes did well in the Titan Arena, as he finished third of the
competition. He lost against Narengo, from Neely, a new member of IRA,
and was hardly defeated by Akhronath's Carcharoth, the Titan winner.
The rise of IRA is now clear this season:
The victory of Pokeytax' VGC in the Early Bird championship, with
the Sabre Golem (who got a wild card at his regular bracket, too) was
followed by 2 brackets victories at regular Arena (SRI's Golem of
Eternal Night and the Empire's Arachnia), the victory of Thissa's
Shadow of the Centurion in the first Titan bracket, and numerous wild
cards (including both Rome's). In the Titan Arena, the new arrived
Neely was second with Narengo, an excellent performance.
6th Season
After much involvement in Arena and IRA internal affairs, Emperor
Caligula finally resigned from the Alliance and the Arena. His other
affairs were taking too much time to allow him to continue this
experience. Perhaps will he come back in the future...
