The Dark Cathedral is a fairly easy scenario by my standards, at least with the path down to the bottom floor. It may be a little more difficult in terms of a tactical challenge, depending on what level party you're using. I will discuss a few of the more difficult areas and the locations of a few important items, but keep in mind that this isn't a complete walkthrough.

After you learn of your mission to descend into the cathedral, you will hear a cry from the park. The dying man there will tell you that you only have 4 days to finish. If you don't, you will simply die. Throughout the scenario, you will run into several evil altars. Sanctify them to get experience.

On level 1 of the cathedral, right after descending the stairs, you will battle a little. If you need to, you can go straight south of the stairs to find the holy water. You can use this to heel your party 2 times. After that, the effect fades away.

If you decide to wander into the small cave with the scattered bodies in it, you will find a chest. If you try to get to it, the bodies will rise and attack you.

After you get to level 2, you might feel stuck. Enter the living quarters west of the stairs. Search around until you find the secret door at (8,36). Kill the sorceror and sanctify the evil altar It will blast a hole in the wall. Follow the tunnel out of this area.

There is a portal at the end of level 2 that will take you back to Shadowgrove. There is also one in level 4. Both will take you back, but you will have to climb all the way back down to the original level. Eventually, you will need to escape level 4 throught the portal when the quickfire starts.

On level 3, there has been a cave in blocking the stairs to level 4. The only way to get down is in the library. look around the north part and find an area where you can cast Move Mountains. Follow the tunnel to the Haunted Caverns In the Haunted Caverns there is a lava river. If you follow it to the west you will find a dead body with a wand of death and other useful items.

In level 2, there is an important area that you can easily find, Go there to get the Helm of Justice and, if you have enough mage lore, get the priest spell, Mass Santuary. There is another important item to get. It is on level 3. In the north part of the library you can find the Demonic Amulet in the chest.
